LOC Honour Roll

Congratulation to all of our annual challenge trophy winners

The LOC Honour Roll is a listing of all dogs and LOC members who have won awards since our club was founded in 1966.  If you are aware of any errors or omissions, please contact the LOC Bulletin Editor.

 

L.O.C. Amateur Stake Trophy  

History: Donated by Labrador Owners Club, November 1998.

Qualifications: Awarded to the dog accumulating the most points in the AMATEUR STAKE at CKC licensed field trials. Based on the field trial championship points system, 5 points are awarded for 1st place, 3 points are awarded for 2nd place, 2 points are awarded for 3rd place, and 1 point is awarded for 4th place. CMs are counted in case of a tie.

Qualifying Trophy

History: Donated by Labrador Owners Club

Qualifications: Awarded to the dog accumulating the most points in ALL FIELD TRIALS (licensed and training) in the QUALIFYING STAKE. Based on the field trial championship points system, 5 points are awarded for 1st place, 3 points are awarded for 2nd place, 2 points are awarded for 3rd place, and 1 point is awarded for 4th place. CM's are counted in case of a tie.

Mandalwood Trophy

History: Donated by Jack and Carol Brethet

Qualifications: Awarded to the dog earning its Canadian CD Obedience Title with the highest total of first three qualifying scores. Scores must be reported in the bulletin and/or submitted to the Trophy Committee prior to October 31 in each year. Prior to 1980 there was a requirement that these scores be confirmed in Dogs in Canada.

Worthing Trophy

History: Donated by Jim and Diane Babcock

Qualifications: - For the dog earning its Canadian CDX Obedience Title with the highest total of first three qualifying scores. Scores must be reported in the bulletin and/or submitted to the Trophy Committee prior to October 31 in each year. Prior to 1980 there was a requirement that these scores be confirmed in Dogs in Canada.

Utility Trophy

Qualifications: - For the dog earning its Canadian UD Obedience Title with the highest total of first three qualifying scores. Scores must be reported in the bulletin and/or submitted to the Trophy Committee prior to October 31 in each year.  Prior to 1980 there was a requirement that these scores be confirmed in Dogs in Canada.

Rahontsi Trophy

History: - donated by Dale and Jim Speck

Qualifications: For the dog who is a non-champion that earns an obedience title (CD, CDX, UD) with the highest total of first three qualifying scores. Scores must be reported in the bulletin and/or submitted to the Trophy Committee prior to October 31 in each year.

Miles Harrison Trophy

History: Donated by Derek Moffatt and Gerry Bester

Qualifications: Awarded to the dog who has a CD or better in Obedience. The winner will be the dog that earns the most points in CKC field events in QUALIFYING class. Based on the field trial championship points system, 5 points are awarded for 1st place, 3 points are awarded for 2nd place, 2 points are awarded for 3rd place, and 1 point is awarded for 4th place. CM's are counted in case of a tie. If in the case of a tie in field trial points and CM's, the trophy will be awarded jointly.  Prior to 1998 the accumulated points were for LOC field events in the QUALIFYING class.

Red Dawn Trophy

History: Donated by Bruce and Merle Costin, owners of Red Dawn Irish Setter Kennels, where early training and trials were held.

Qualifications: Awarded to the dog who is a show Champion who won its Canadian CD Obedience Title with the highest total of first three qualifying scores. Scores must be reported in the bulletin and/or submitted to the Trophy Committee prior to October 31 in each year.

Croft Trophy

History: - donated by Jane and David Croft

Qualifications: - Awarded to the dog accumulating the most points in CKC licensed field trials in the OPEN class. Based on the field trial championship points system, 5 points are awarded for 1st place, 3 points are awarded for 2nd place, 2 points are awarded for 3rd place, and 1 point is awarded for 4th place. CM's are counted in case of a tie.  Prior to 1998 the accumulated points were for LOC field training trials in the OPEN class.

Wiley Trophy

History: Donated by John Wiley

Qualifications:  For the dog accumulating the most points under the Phillips point system for dogs defeated in conformation shows for Best Of Breed wins and up. Based on 1 point per dog defeated, Best of Breed is number of entries in breed less 1. For Group placings, the total entry for all breeds that place higher than the Labrador is subtracted from the total group entry, less 1. For Best in Show, the number of entries in the show less 1.

Qualifications: - Awarded to the dog accumulating the most points in all field trials (Licensed and Training) in the JUNIOR class. Based on the field trial championship points system, 5 points are awarded for 1st place, 3 points are awarded for 2nd place, 2 points are awarded for 3rd place, and 1 point is awarded for 4th place. CM's are counted in case of a tie.

Up'n Coming Trophy

History: Donated by Barry Bevan

Qualifications: Awarded to the dog accumulating the most points in all field trials (Licensed and Training) in the PUPPY class. Based on the field trial championship points system, 5 points are awarded for 1st place, 3 points are awarded for 2nd place, 2 points are awarded for 3rd place, and 1 point is awarded for 4th place. CM's are counted in case of a tie.

Briggs Trophy

History: Donated by Richard and Monica Briggs

Qualifications: For the dog accumulating the most points in the puppy class in conformation shows. One point is awarded for Best Puppy in Breed, 5 points for Best Puppy in Group, 5 points for Best Puppy in Specialty, and 10 points for Best Puppy in Show wins.

Oaklea Trophy

History:  Donated in 1999 by Bill & Janet Trim in appreciation of Ken & Eileen Grant

Qualifications:  For the dog defeating the most dogs in Best of Opposite Sex wins in CKC licensed Conformation Shows during the year.

Cedar Keep Trophy

History:  Donated by Ray and Kathy Martyn

Qualifications: - Awarded to the Junior Member who is the most enterprising and successful in Labrador activities during the trophy year. Such activities may only be considered while the Junior member is under the age of 18 years. Family membership qualifies junior members for this trophy. Submissions detailing the activities must be made to the Bulletin editor before October 31st of the trophy year.

Neville Trophy

History:  Donated by LOC in recognition of the dedication of Bill and Pam Neville

Qualifications: Awarded to the dog with a minimum of a Show Championship, and Obedience degree and a Working Certificate or CM or better in a licensed field trial. Submissions detailing the dogs qualifications must be made to the Bulletin Editor before October 31st of the trophy year.

Odorico Trophy

History:  Donated by LOC in recognition of the dedication of Ray and Jenny Odorico

Qualifications: Awarded on an Annual basis, but not necessarily every year, to the member who, in the opinion of the Executive, has done the most to further the aims and objectives of the Club. The criteria for making this award shall emphasize the contribution made to the operation of the club activities rather than success in competition with his/her dog. Members of the executive in the year the award is made shall be automatically excluded from consideration in that year.
